No chance Texas goes Pac-12. Zero. Maybe Big 10 if they asked.
Also, they have a big Texas A&M problem in the SEC. Frankly, the SEC does not need them. The Texas market is covered and the SEC is a national brand. Why would they want to add serious competition to their league when they do not need it.
They will not go Pac-12 because the Pac-12 network is a mess and frankly, nobody east of the Mountain time zone give a flip or sees a Pac-12 football game unless they really go out of their way to do so. Texas thinks they are a national brand. That means, be on TV sets in the Eastern time zone and be a player in the top media markets that are not LA and SFO. Joining the ACC gives unites the Dallas and Houston markets with NYC, Washington, Boston, Chicago (ND), Atlanta, and the Florida markets. That makes a lot more sense and it propels the ACC football brand to a competitive position against the SEC and Big 10.
